Parent

I as a parent send my child(ren) to Saint Luke because …

Saint Luke has an excellent, dedicated staff in every classroom who are willing to go the extra mile for my child or any child in the school (this includes staff always having time to set up a personal meeting if there are any concerns). There is always understanding from the staff if personal concerns arise within families and they are very willing to work with you on finding a solution or offer assistance in anyway they can; not because it is a requirement, but because they get to truly know and care about each child and their family.

In a world where prayer and religion are banned from public schools, it is taught, encouraged and reinforced at St. Luke.  My children have the ability to learn and know their Savior through Christian Education, provided by loving, caring, teachers and staff.  St. Luke provides a wonderful atmosphere for children to grow academically, socially and spiritually, and has a wonderful program that produces results.  Standard testing scores prove that the children who get the small-class attention that St. Luke provides, exceed academically.  It is a wonderful place to live, learn and grow.

Not only is their faith created and strengthened but St. Luke School instilled moral values into my child.  They were prepared to excel in and out of the classroom and speak publicly with confidence.  My child loved coming to school and enjoyed learning. What a blessing it is that going to school isn’t a chore.  As my girls reached the junior high age, I was so please that St. Luke School taught them to make good choices and equipped them to handle problems with intelligence.  They were able to live by their Christian values and not just go with the crowd, or down a wrong path.  They are proud of their Christian faith.  St. Luke is a strong environment that developed my girls into strong intelligent young women with character that stands out in everything they do.  I cannot tell you how many people compliment my kids.  They do not waiver in standing alone in times of hard decisions, sure of WHOM they are in Christ.

Not only is my child receiving an amazing start to her education with all of the hands on learning but she is also truly cared for by all of the caring and compassionate teachers and staff. She is growing up learning empathy, getting involved by helping others, learning academics, and being educated spiritually. We couldn’t be happier.

My oldest son, now a Junior in college, received a strong foothold at St. Luke – one that has kept him on a straight path through High School and  College.  Without the foundation that he received from St. Luke, he would be a different man today.  I am proud of him for staying on the path that God wants him to go, and I am indebted to St. Luke for the wonderful job they did helping to mold my son into who he is today.

We really enjoyed the onset of religion teachings that is so lost in these times while at the same time reminding us as parents to keep God in our lives always.  The school made us feel like we were part of a big family and that is what is bringing us back to the school coming this fall.  Although we live in Roselle, we don’t mind taking the daily commute to your school.   I guess you can say, we found a little gem in Itasca that provides our child with quality education, care while at the same time reminding us that God is in our lives.

In conclusion … I hope in the responses, you found a reason to visit our school.  I hope you sensed the heart and commitment that our teachers have toward Christian education and their students.  I hope you were assured that Saint Luke provides an excellent well rounded academic program for children throughout the grades.  I hope you realize the unique opportunity we have as a Christian school to offer a value based education founded on God’s Word.   I hope that you saw that we are about building a foundation for life, now and into eternity, for our students, by shaping the whole child in a nurturing environment centered in the message and love of Christ. And I hope we have the opportunity to provide the best in education for your child(ren).

I as a parent send my child(ren)to Saint Luke because …
1) Daily they are reminded of God’s love and taught how to live His love. This is something that not only affects them as children but will guide them throughout the rest of their lives.
2 ) The class sizes are small–which some people will argue that children need a wider variety of classmates but I find that the class sizes are more like close-knit families, which is invaluable as far as relationships go because not only does one get to know the children in classes, but parents of the children as well; there is a sense of community and connectedness.
3) St. Luke has excellent, dedicated staff in every classroom who are willing to go the extra mile for my child or any child in the school (this includes staff always having time to set up a personal meeting if there are any concerns). There is always understanding from the staff if personal concerns arise within families and they are very willing to work with you on finding a solution or offer assistance in anyway they can; not because it is a requirement, but because they get to truly know and care about each child and their family. (They have the opportunity to do so because of the smaller classes as well)
4) There is less peer pressure in a setting such as St. Luke. Children learn more about acceptance of others. True they will experience certain issues regarding peer pressure, as we all do, but at St Luke, because you get to know your classmates so well, one is less likely to judge another….a child has the chance to be who they truly are and not be ridiculed for it, or made to feel like they are somehow “wrong” in being the person God created them to be.
5) Though being involved in different sports, etc.,  is important to create a well-rounded individual, St Luke also offers children opportunities to share their services/talents within the church and community. Not only do children have this opportunity to serve, and are regularly encouraged to do so, but they do not feel an overbearing pressure of “have-to”, they learn the joy in serving God and others through volunteering.
Each of these are qualities I believe create a solid foundation as they move closer to adulthood, so I suppose one could say that St. Luke is not only concerned with the child, but also with the adults they will later become–not only the education of the child, but their spirituality, as well as their morals. Why would any parent NOT desire such a thing for their child?

I believe a Christian education helps to provide a firm foundation for a lifetime relationship with the Lord.  Dedicated teachers, pastors, and Christian Care workers surround my child with a secure and loving environment in which to grow.  I trust that my son will mature both in his faith and trust in Jesus Christ as his Savior and as a healthy loving person in the world.
We send our kids to St Luke’s because the teachers are great. They have always been there and are willing to give the kids any extra help they need. The teachers are Christian and use those principles in their teaching.

it is the best way to incorporate a higher education with Christian values.  I am a single parent and always try to do the best for my children.  St Luke Lutheran School and Church is an extended part of our immediate family; we are blessed to have them in our lives. The entire school staff, as well as the other families that go to St Luke keep a close eye on my children, for that I am forever thankful.  Every morning I drop off my children I know they will be SAFE, which is such a relief for me. I used to be very stressed out about leaving my children and then I found…St Luke! My children are far from just a “number” at St Luke, they are just another one of God’s children blessed with this wonderful experience.  I am so grateful everyday for this home away from home! Thank you again for allowing my children to attend this school (home). God’s blessing on your day.

When my husband and I toured the school and the Christian Care center a year ago, we new right away that we had found our second home, it just felt right!

That’s exactly what Saint Luke Lutheran School and Christian Care have provided to our family, a home away from home.  With a supportive staff and a loving environment, we have no doubt that our children are loved and cared for the minute we drop them off.   That is the greatest comfort a parent could have.

In the past year we’ve become accustomed to teachers who care, small classes, and a place to freely learn about faith. Without these elements in our school, most of us would not be the people we are today.

Our children’s experience at St. Luke has been essential; the teachers and staff have helped build a strong foundation for both our children in all aspects.  The spiritual focus taught and reinforced by the teachers and staff, not only for our children, but for all the students, teach them self respect and to respect all their peers.

Thank you for your dedication and inspiration of the Christian values that you infused to our children.
